Glacier Re appoints Ralph Bothe as Treaty Underwriter

Glacier Reinsurance AG (“Glacier Re” or “the Company”), the European reinsurance company, today announces the appointment of Ralph Bothe as Treaty Underwriter. He takes up his position immediately.

Ralph Bothe has nearly 20 years’ experience in reinsurance, as an underwriter and a broker. He joins Glacier Re from Willis Re in Hamburg, where he was a Senior Broker responsible for generating new business, managing client services and co-ordinating consulting projects. Prior to this, he spent eight years at Aon, where he was latterly Team Leader for Poland, Germany and France. Before moving in to broking, Ralph spent a decade in underwriting roles at Frankona Reinsurance and Hannover Reinsurance, specialising in captives.

Robbie Klaus, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Underwriting Officer at Glacier Re, commented:

“Ralph’s track record in underwriting, broking and management makes him a valuable addition to our growing team. His intricate knowledge of European reinsurance markets will be of enormous benefit to our team and our customers.
